Vettri has studied the ancient Hatha yogic scriptures under the traditions of Kaivalyadhama. HE is disciple of renowned yoga master Sri Swamisatchidananda and he has taught yoga and meditation for over 15 years to students from all walks of life. He is author of the “Guide to Yogic Practices”.

ABOUT THE CLASS

The goal of the traditional yoga is to have a peaceful, clear mind in a sound, healthy body. Traditional hatha yoga is the aspect of yoga which approaches this goal through the physical side of the individual. On the beginners’ level it includes bodily postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), guided relaxation (savasana) and meditation (dhyana).

By learning proper relaxation and meditation the body comes to its own natural state of health and ease. These practices also have profound effect on the mind making it more relaxed and centered.

(Please note our group yoga classes are not suitable for pregnant women, however one-to-one yoga classes may be booked between 12 and 36 weeks. If you regularly attend classes at The Haybarn, please ensure that you let your instructor know, so that together you can plan how to continue your practice during this exciting time.)

The art of Ecstasy – A day of Meditation

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

The day encompasses different types of meditation with our resident yogi Vettri Selvan. Great for anyone who wishes to learn more about meditation from complete novices to the more experienced.

Vettri has studied the ancient Hatha yogic scriptures under the traditions of Kaivalyadhama. He is disciple to renowned yoga master Sri Swami Satchidananda and he has taught yoga and mediations from over 15 years to students from all walks of life. He is author of the “guide to yogic practices”.
The morning commences with the essentials of mediations to harmonise the body, quiet the mind and enrich the emotions. This is followed by a vegetarian organic lunch. The afternoon introduces participants to Chakra healing meditation, breathing, inner silence and sharing of thoughts.

The Mind Matters Clinic will offer Bamford Haybarn Spa clients access to Elaine’s areas of expertise including stress & anxiety issues, depression, eating disorders, addictions and issues relating to self-worth and sense of identity. Parent and child yoga class creates a bond. A fun, non competitive physical activity with many postures that are named after animals and other creatures. Breathing exercises and deep relaxation are also included leaving both parent and child feeling balanced, peaceful and positive.

Cristina Chandika Ma is the founder of The Yoga Bunch, and became a resident yoga teacher at the Bamford Haybarn Spa in 2005. She was introduced to family yoga and yoga for children in 2006 at the first Yoga festival in Egypt where she was a guest teacher.

She is an innovative, visionary spirit and her love of working with children is evident in every class she teaches. With children living in a ’hurry up’ world, with school pressures and other modern influences, Cristina’s classes are the perfect counter balance to these pressures, whilst instilling the foundations for future generations.

You’ll get hands on with the preparation of a number of dishes designed to reflect the holistic, pure approach to food we have at Daylesford. Focusing on nutritious and healthy approaches to eating, we’ll create a series of dishes that are wholesome, seasonal and delicious.
