The slow flow of yoga postures exercise every part of the body, stretching and toning the muscles and joints, the spine and the entire skeletal system. They work not only on the body’s frame but on the internal organs, glands and nerves as well, keeping all systems in radiant health. The breathing exercises revitalise the body and help to control the mind, leaving you feeling calm and refreshed, while the practice of positive thinking and meditation gives increased clarity, mental power and concentration.

Mindfulness meditation is the art of being. It is a form of meditation designed to develop the skill of paying attention to our inner and outer experiences with acceptance, patience and compassion.
Consistent practice promotes the development of stability, inner calmness and non- reactivity of the mind. In turn, this allow us to face and embrace even the unpleasant or painful aspects of daily life. The stability and non-reactivity we cultivate in practice supports our ability to become more compassionate human beings, experiencing the joys of pure non-reactive presence. By developing a simple and pure awareness, we learn to disentangle ourselves from our habitual thoughts, emotions, and behaviours and connect with others in a healthier and deeper way.

When mainstream yoga can sometimes be a challenge, one-to-one therapeutic yoga sessions help to re-align the body, improve the flow of energy (prana) and boost the internal systems (such as the immune, circulatory, nervous and digestive systems), bringing the body back to a natural state of health and well-being. Postures and movements are combined with mindfulness practises, encouraging you to practise within your own capabilities, soothingly and gently. There is much emphasis on learning to breathe properly and effectively, improving oxygen levels, revitalising the inner body as well as calming the mind and body. These sessions are particularly suitable for people suffering from a health condition.

ABOUT JAMIE FRANCIS
Jamie comes from a multi-faceted background of sport and exercise science. Having completed a Masters in Sports and exercise science at Oxford Brookes he has completed various professional Pilates, strength and conditioning courses. He believes Pilates should work with a holistic approach towards the body. Jamie teaches Pilates through initially strengthening the core, then integrating movement, connecting all the weaker body parts to the strong centre. The whole body becomes stronger as a result. Metaphorically, you strengthen the trunk of a tree and then integrate – not isolate- the branches. Through this process the spine returns to its naturally supple condition. Pilates is not just an exercise routine it facilitates a way of moving that enables our bodies to do tasks without injury, this can be lifting a baby out of a car or moving a heavy box.

Sculpt tone and lift you muscles to produce the fantastic figure you’ve always dreamed of – and in record time.
Callanetics is a series of contracting exercises that activate the body’s largest muscle groups, using tiny, gentle, precise movements, called pulses. Done very slowly, they reach deep into the muscles to give you a toned, tight, firm body, without adding bulk. There are no jerking or bouncing movements in callanetics. The exercises are completely non-impact, making them perfect for people with back, knee and joint problems. Whatever your shape or size, callanetics can enhance your appearance by tightening your muscles more than you ever dreamed possible. And it takes only a few hours to see truly astounding results. Whatever your age, sex or physical condition, it’s not too late to rejuvenate your body and achieve a beautiful figure.
ABOUT INSTRUCTOR LYNDSEY McDONALD
Lyndsey has been teaching callanetics for 10 years. A former gymnast and county level runner, Lyndsey began experiencing debilitating back and joint pain in her early teens. A few years later, a friend suggested callanetics due the non-impact nature of the exercises. Immediately she was hooked; her pains disappeared enabling her to run again, her muscles lengthened and she dropped two dresses in a very short period of time. After having all three of her children, callenetics helped Lyndsey regain her figure in less than six weeks.
